On October 15, The FinIQ Initiative had the pleasure of leading a fun and educational workshop for elementary school students in San Ramon, California! Designed to be both engaging and informative, the session introduced students to the building blocks of wants, needs, and smart money habits.
We kicked things off with an interactive discussion about the difference between wants and needs. The students eagerly shared examples from their own lives, sparking lively conversations about how these choices shape the way we spend and save.
Next came storytime featuring our comic book, The Adventures of Captain Cash! The superhero’s journey helped students understand concepts like impulse buying and the importance of making thoughtful financial decisions.
To wrap up, we played a fun game of Bingo that reinforced the day’s lessons. Working in teams, students identified examples of wants, needs, and good money habits, turning learning into an exciting, hands-on experience.
We’re so grateful to Enrich San Ramon for giving us the opportunity to bring financial education to young learners in such a meaningful (and fun!) way. We can’t wait to host more workshops that empower the next generation to think smart about money.
