Storytime at Genius Kids San Ramon
Recently, The FinIQ Initiative had the pleasure of leading a storytime for a wonderful group of pre-K students in San Ramon, California!
We kicked things off with a simple conversation about wants versus needs, introducing these important financial concepts in a way that was fun and easy for young learners to understand. From there, we read the first book in our Captain Cash series, following Captain Cash on an adventure filled with valuable money lessons.
Throughout the story, we paused to ask interactive questions, encouraging the students to think about the characters' choices, identify good and bad financial habits, and predict what might happen next. Their excitement, curiosity, and thoughtful answers made the story come alive!
To wrap up, each student shared one lesson they learned from the book, reinforcing the ideas we explored together. We ended on a fun note by talking about everyone's favorite superheroes, because every superhero has something to teach us, especially Captain Cash!
At The FinIQ Initiative, we believe it's never too early to build healthy financial habits. Seeing these young learners engage with money concepts through stories and conversation was a wonderful reminder that financial literacy can begin with something as simple as storytime.
