Captain Cash Joins Forces with Monument Crisis Center in Concord, CA!

We are so excited to share that The FinIQ Initiative has shared our Captain Cash comic book series with the Monument Crisis Center in Concord! We are thrilled that Captain Cash's adventures will reach even more young readers across our community.

Monument Crisis Center supports low-income families and individuals throughout Contra Costa County with nutritious food, education, and resources that help build stability and security. Their work reflects a belief we share: every child deserves the tools and support to build a strong future. We are honored to help contribute to that mission by putting financial literacy into the hands of kids.

So who is Captain Cash? Captain Cash is a superhero with a very special mission: helping elementary-age kids make smart choices with their money. But the villains she battles aren't your typical bad guys. They are the behavioral biases hiding in our own minds! These are the sneaky mental shortcuts that can lead us to spend on impulse, follow the crowd, or forget about saving for later. In every story, Captain Cash takes on one of these villains and shares practical, kid-friendly tips on how to check ourselves before we make a money decision.

By introducing these ideas early and through fun, engaging stories, we hope to help young readers recognize these habits in themselves and build the confidence to make thoughtful choices, whether they are saving their allowance or deciding what's worth buying. Research shows that smart habits formed early can lead to better financial outcomes later in life, and we believe that learning about money should be fun, relatable, and accessible to every child.
